She's finally, officially, for really reals, 8.years.old.

We marvel at our first born.
She's mature.

She's enthusiastic.

She's humble.

She's modest.

She's thoughtful.

She's popular.

She's deserving.

She's pretty.
and.........

Her sister's adore her!

She's an entertainer.

She's 8 now.

8 makes her nervous.
Her birthday wish was to stay 7.

We dragged her birthday on for days.

She's thankful.

She'll do almost anything for a cupcake.

.. and frosting.

Her idea...

She had her own cupcake smashing party.

We laughed... and laughed...

I think 8 is going to be the greatest year.

Brooke thinks so too...

my walk with dylan

Every Monday morning I wake up wondering who is going to be sick this week. Dylan bit the dust this week and it's been a tough 4 days. The girl had a high fever and other symptoms that required us to stay near the diaper stash. It's been unseasonable warm as well, so by Wednesday I couldn't stand her anymore I decided to bundle her up and see how she'd do on a walk to the lake. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the lake, unless the 2 year old wants to get out and push the stroller and stop to talk to every animal on the route! ...oh mom, look--- it's a cute puddy tat!
Oh Dylan, that's a puppy dog...
Oh MOM LOOK AT THE BIG SCARY DOGGIE! HE'S GONNA GET ME!!!
Oh Dylan, that's a cute little squirrel! (she's such a joker)

Then the walk also went something like this;
Mom! Watch me walk really slooooww....

Mom! Watch me run sooo fast!

Mom.
Stop.
Stay back of me.
MOM!
STOP!
Stay there Mom while I walk in front.

I'm gonna push the stroller now.
Ooof.
It's hard Mom, you do it.

MOM!
STOP!
Imma push it again.
Watch me.
No.Stay behind me.
Look at me hanging down!
WACK! The stroller tips over.
Mom! Pick IT UP so I can push it!
Dylan, we'll be here all day if you keep doing that.
Oh Mom.
Calm down.
I put out a snack for the boss and took to the beach to explore.
Does it look "wintery" to you?!!

Mom? Where's Dad?
He's at home waiting for you Dylan.
Oh Mom! He's so cute!
Mom?
Can we have "mato" soup with Dad, Mom?

capes and goggles

Dylan is in her "creative" phase of being 2. Personally, I hope she stays this way. She can wear capes and goggles forever if she wants.
