Hat! Hat!!!

As soon as she wakes up, she says "HAT!!" and points at her purple-hand-knitted-hat and pats her head... then she makes a kissing noise which means she wants "bird". I haven't figured out yet if she is just OBSESSED with hats, or if she is proud that she can say "hat" and that she gets the "hat" after she yells HAT! Actually, it sounds more like "AT!".. but you get the picture.
It really is an obsession I think. If she sees a hat in a store, she has to wear it. If I am wearing a hat, she has to try it. When we are getting ready to leave the house, she asks for one. I'm not annoyed by this AT ALL. I am embracing it. 100%. ... i figure "SHOE!" is next.

Dylan.

She waves and says, "hi" to strangers. She gives daddy zerberts. She loves big bird. LOVES big bird. She loves when dogs bark. She loves Anna's voice. She loves being "tucked in". She loves to go 'bye bye'. She loves to dance.

The Halloween that lasted forever

The week before Halloween seemed like it went on and on. The girls would wake up every day and ask how many sleeps til Halloween? Brooke would cry cuz it wasn't today and Anna would try and try to explain it to her.. We had obligatory cookie making to do for school parties. Thank goodness Grandma Lauretta sent cookie decorating supplies to get me motivated. So after school one day, the girls spent at least an hour perfecting their cookies. Little did they know, I had a stash of cookie dough in the fridge to make the real cookies... Here is a montage of cookie making and TASTING!!!

AND THEN..after the 2 hours of cookie making- Anna told us she wanted to enter the school pumpkin carving contest which was the next day- so we whipped up this daddy.
.. and Dylan played hide the hat in the popcorn bowl.

Here's Anna. The wig? Her alter ego. See, she wanted to be Hanna Montana for Halloween. She HAD TO HAVE THE WIG MONTHS BEFORE FOR HER COSTUME!!! We caught her sporting the wig almost every minute she wasn't at school. I think the wig- wasn't really part of her costume, it was a ploy to buy her a wig, so she could have long blonde locks.. morning, noon and night. Here she is in the kitchen - all set up to do some crafts. .. wearing her wig. Not Halloween.
Halloweeners!!!! One Hanna Montana ..eh hem.. Anna with a wig.
One dancing elephant and one baby elephant.

 Who's that?
OH! It's ANNA Montana... or just Anna in a blonde wig.

I have to say- it was SERIOUSLY FUN to watch them trick or treat.
DYLAN! She's so excited that the girls were excited- that and she scored some fish crackers for the trip around the neighborhood.
The greatest neighbors EVER. Mary-Nora and Grandpa Maurice.
 Dylan- afraid of Grandpa Maurice.

The loot. 2 baskets of CRAP. Actually - it was a very anti-climatic night. As soon as we got home from trick or treating, they forgot all about the candy and wanted to answer the door and hand out candy instead.
Mom was glad.
