The big 3.

Dylan's Birthday was very low key this year, but she got 2 parties! I liked having it low key because she really got a chance to enjoy each present and all the family and friends who helped her celebrate. You'll see a unicorn theme throughout the pictures. It's no secret that she is half unicorn, half human.
NEIGH!

The night before she turned 3. I was feeling very sad.

a little musical chairs for the big kids :)

The morning after- playing with her... UNICORNS! :)

First day of School 2012-2013

Ahhhhhh..... it's so quiet now. All I hear are sounds of the Unicorn. I like it. No more, MOM! Anna touched me!!!! MOM! Brooke took my spot!! I am sure by 3:00 today I will be bored out of my mind wishing I had someone to play with!
Anyway- it seems like summer went by like a blink of an eye... and today they are off to Grades 3 and 1. FULL-TIMERS!! Brooke is heading to french immersion and got in a class with her BFF. All the kids in Anna's class are the same from last year. She was pretty bummed this morning to be going back to school.. and nervous too. She couldn't eat a single thing for breakfast and wanted me to take her temperature!! They are loaded up with vitamin C and their hair tied and sprayed. STAY AWAY BUGS!

Burlington Beach trip.

Chris woke up ill on Labour Day so I put the kids in the car and hit the beach (the desert- as Dylan called it). We hadn't been to Burlington Beach yet. I heard conflicting views about it's cleanliness. You know me and clean! I didn't even commit to the day by packing a lunch. I wish I had, as this was a fabulous day! The beach was clean and vast and the water shallow. The wind was mild and so were the waves.
As soon as we hit the beach, the girls ran around screaming and yelling with excitement. Brooke got her face wet first and then the others followed. They built sandcastles and rode the "waves".. until we got hungry.....!!

family faces!

LOOK WHAT I FOUND! I can't believe I had these and forgot all about them. I wish I had the chance to get everyone's face. What a great time this day was when family from Texas and around Dexter came to visit. A very memorable 4th Of July weekend it was!

So you think you can jazz/tap combo?

I could post a bunch of pictures of half dressed kids enjoying their summer more than they ever have- but instead I wanted to post this picture of the dancer who can't dance. Someday she may read this- but for now she can't.. can't dance that is. One whole year of jazz/tap and she still can't dance. Bless her for trying, but this girl has 2 left feet. Thank goodness she told me "i wanna hang up my dancing shoes for a while Mom!" That's one million dollars in dance lessons that I'll never get back.

I'm back baby!

Here are some events in fast-forward- as that is how my life has been going since we moved to Burlington- I'm not sure why? It might be because we LOVE our neighbors and spend most weekends with them - or because there is always a sale at HomeSense. Have you been there? awweeee SNAP!
